It’s called, “Reasonable Assurance"

Hi Fishes,
I Will be Joining PWC AC B as SA2 on Sept 2,2022. Just want to know about Appraisal cycle. Is it Mid Year or Annual appraisal process. Also, will I be eligible for next appraisal cycle ? Tried asking the same Question to HR, but didn't get a proper response. She just mentioned as per company policy.

Not everyone can be picky and also most people are in it for the short haul anyway. Most kids can get something solid lined up within 6 mo of starting given buy side recruiting timelines and Moelis still has a decent rep.
You take the offer you can get...
They’re paid better than any other IB I know of except for PJT. Also, some people genuinely thrive on the intensity. Buddy in their LA office was working on 7 live deals at once and was full of energy because of it
I mean. You could say the same for Lazard
Centerview Qatalyst, and Evercore pay far better than Moelis @JPM2
And Guggenheim
Top bucket at MoCo eclipses all those – the bonus range is pretty large though (historically from when I was Ana analyst, may have changed now)
It’s bad at the junior level right now because of some attrition earlier in the year. They are actively hiring laterals now, so hopefully that improves the hours for everyone
They get paid more
^news flash, every bank in the planet says this when they are “understaffed”. Unfortunately banks are short-term incentivized to run their junior team into the ground to get those sweet high margin $$$. Long-term doesn’t matter to many senior bankers as they are ready to jump ship whenever convenient+profitable and / or be counseled out in a heartbeat. Sprinkle in that most analysts are 2-and-out + heavy associate attrition and banks have no incentive to hire the headcount needed to staff at a sane level
I actually can’t tell if OP is joking? Moelis pays ~100k more than LAZ at the associate level and the hours are significantly better. The real question is: why would anyone work at LAZ knowing the comp is mediocre (on par w Barclays) and the hours are near, if not, the worst on the street
