Does having a CVA (certified valuation analyst) useful? have heard mixed reviews

Has anyone tried getting their CVA? If so, what was your experience like (besides awful I am sure)? Looking to sit for it once I return to the states.

Our firm is looking for a Valuation Manager. CVA and/or ABV credentials or equivalent required. CPA preferred, but not required.

Has anyone taken classes in valuations and received some kind of credential with just an EA? After a bit of a detour I’m getting my EA this year. I‘ve looked in to a few options, like the CVA, but it looks like I’d have to go to business school or become a CPA. I’m not against either but I don’t feel ready to apply to schools just yet. Wondering if anyone has taken a similarly unconventional route in their careers.
