Use this time to collect unemployment $$ while also utilizing the freeze on loan payments to figure out what you want to do career wise.
If you’re set on being in consulting again it’s good to keep your skills sharp (EG: mock interviews, case studies) in case you get another interview.

Also got to realize with COVID I’m sure employers won’t blink at a gap in your resume versus pre-COVID times.
Context: my parents came from a war-torn country, and I’m the first in my family to attend university (went to a top LAC). My education + my job in consulting was my family’s ticket to a more stable financial future. I struggling with a deep sadness that I’m disappointing my family
Appreciate this a lot. Puts things into context. Trying to keep my head up and look for work, but it’s dry as the Sahara out there
Remember it's not your fault!
Apply for unemployment, save like a mofo, apply for jobs everyday, utilize your network and if u really need cash take a loan or do a 401k withdrawal if u don't have any other options.

Sorry to hear. We are hiring.
Generally if financial stability is important it's wiser to choose a more stable firm whose name and brand have solid value and are more likely to stay afloat than a boutique. Recommended considering that factor in the future when applying.
Appreciate the response. What firm do you work for?
Please continue to pay the interest on your student loans. Compound interest is a helluva thing!
It’s not over OP. It took me a year to find a job but when I did it was the stair step to my dream firm. You’re not ‘done’ in consulting! It’s one of the best careers to come back to, with so many boutique and small firms in addition to the big 4, that will start hiring. For now, I’d try to put as much $ as you can on your loan BEFORE it capitalizes (they add already accrued interest from day 1 of school to the base, so you’re paying your interest rate on a bigger amount than you borrowed. You can really change your monthly payment by paying a lot to the base beforehand. Mine went from $900 to $250) and look for firms online, reach out, and build your network. Good luck!
