Laid off from FAANG in March and the past several months of failure after failure are exhausting. Over 1000 applications (20% referrals) and a handful of interviews to end up right back at square 1. Nothing in the pipeline. Looks like a few more jobs are starting to get posted now but it's still very hard out here.

I had a 3rd round interview with a VP yesterday, sent a follow up email after and included a general question and no response. Is this a bad sign?

What can I expect in a final round, virtual interview? It’ll be with the person who interviewed me during the second round which was technical.

I was lucky enough to have been hired by one of the worlds top consulting firms, worked with a whole lot of big clients and travelled a lot. The severance package at Meta for laid off employees almost makes it nice to be laid off depending on what your personal situation is….. personally wouldn’t mind getting 4+ months of full pay to reset and think about what’s next 😬

Follow up post to my last post…My husband was laid off from the company where I also work. I am feeling really isolated / depressed about working and moving forward. I’m also getting to a stage where I’m really sad that people haven’t reached out to either my husband or myself to send well wishes or provide support.
