Listen, I'm not a political person, but I'm not enjoying this debate on whether congress deserves a raise. I work at least two to three times more hours than these people and I'm making almost $100,000 less a year, and THEY think they deserve a raise? If they can't live off $174,000, then why should the rest of us live off less than $100,000? #endofrant

Is it possible to switch from an S Pass to an E Pass upon promotion? Or you can only do it once you renew your pass?

Industry imposter here…How do you show progression on your resume when your internal levels changed, but the title doesn’t indicate a promotion to the rest of the workforce. (e.g. a senior product manger to a technology strategist)…It seems like a lateral move unless you were internal and knew it was a level 7 to level 8.

I just got a promotion that will involve 90% travel, I am excited about the role, but I have kids and me travelling means no one to take my kids to day care on days my wife works as she resumes 6am.

Did it happen with someone in the last quarter that although you got nominated by L1 for band progression but the promotion did not happen?

Career advice?

I'm a relatively junior data engineer (2yoe), the only other engineer (senior) that trained me left about a 6 months ago and I negotiated a nice raise for the extra responsibilities.

My performance reviews have been stellar, but my manager is starting to look to hire a senior to help me deliver projects as we do lack capacity right now.

I feel like I might be missing an opportunity to ask for a promotion and hire a junior instead.

Any opinions/tips?

What’s a fair expectation for my first raise? Publicly traded co with ~2500 employees. I’ve been doing litigation with the company for almost 3 yrs and have only had a 2% cost of living raise so far. Graduated in 2014. Base comp is $127.5k in the Philly area. I see salaries all over the place in this site and it’s hard to tell whether mine is competitive.

Hi- I’m an hourly AA, been on the role for 6 months now and it’s my first AA job. I did not get a raise when I took the job because it was technically a demotion ( I was a team leader at a contact center). I assist two VPs and now they want to add a third because they’re looking for the “ 3:1 ratio “. Should I ask for a raise? Is this normal? I know another AA that handles 3+ people but idk if she’s hourly or salary. Any thoughts?
