Always go with private lenders! They gave me a 3% better interest rate, jumbo loan, assuming you have a great credit score.

Oftentimes it’s your local bank or credit union. Getting multiple rates allows you to make it more competitive.

Banks compete with each other on a daily basis to get customers. Whoever had the “best” rates last week may not have the best rates this week.
Also, some banks will make up for lower rates with higher fees. So you have to look at the big picture.

2 years ago I got a significantly lower rate with him/his bank than I was offered from 3 other banks. Identical mortgages with no points or extra fees.
Obviously no guarantee you’ll experience the same but a reco worth looking into.
