Managers- how do you manage the quiet quitters? I’ve got a couple who are checked out and I am trying SO HARD to motivate them to achieve better.

Why are they checked out? Bad pay? Are they burnt out? Are they being micromanaged? It's important to figure out the why, and then work to fix it.

Agreed, finding the root cause is step one for adjusting

like

Make sure theres no covert bullies around they undermine everyone! But they have a tendency to pick on the nicest people.

like

Try and figure out what motivates them and appeal to that. Whether it's a raise, promotion, learning new skills, upskilling... not every employee is going to stay forever and sometimes all we can do is prepare them for their next journey while still expecting them to do their jobs.

like

They want to feel like there’s a chance for growth in career and salary

like

Be clear in the hiring process so there are no false expectations. Be clear about who your org is and who you are and own it. Hire for emotional intelligence. Fire for culture.

like

If your employees don't have a sense of self-determination what is there to motivate them to stay? You can overcome this by giving them more autonomy by letting them set their own goals that align with the company policy. Ask them what they need to be intrinsically committed to their jobs. Once they have limited power to set their goals that dovetail with the company agenda they will feel empowered to stay and perform to greater heights.

like

Also find out what they're good at and encourage it. Even if its not related to their job. They can still use the skills for adjacent projects like a womens club, holiday party, volunteering etc.

Hey Fishes,
Been working at D India as a Manager (Not USI) for past few months.
Ask me anything as there are very few reviews available online.
To clear few misconceptions
1. Global projects are available here
2. They've started mentioning Bonus, Gratuity amount etc in offer letter
3. Work life balance depends on Project and managers you work with
4. Inside opportunities if you're the creamy layer
5. PF amount in offer letter is the total deduction and not just company's contri

Got offered 68k after 2 years as a contractor (62.5k) doing project management/business admin in a tech department at a Fortune 500 bank. I have an A.S degree and working on my bachelor’s/masters may 2024. I negotiated to 84k NYC. I have seen interns get offered 38 per hour (79k) for internship positions with a similar role.

Thoughts? Should I go higher? I do my job well that’s why they decided to keep me as a contractor after my internship.

I’m interviewing with a startup and the range has a 40k difference from the lowest to highest point. It’s also pre-seed and comes with equity, and health, 401k benefits. It’s a director of sales role so I would eventually be recruiting and managing a team along with building the processes and strategy. What would you consider a fair compensation package? If they offer me something on the lower end of the range, is it still appropriate to counter with an offer that is over their stated range?

My husband just received a job offer on an opportunity he is really excited about. It would be great for his career and they are giving the 15% jump in base he asked for, however they won’t share what the target bonus amount would be. It’s an executive director position, so I would assume it’s a decent target bonus, but without that in writing it could honestly be a gift basket at the end of the year. Is it a red flag for them to not share this? His total comp could be less at this new job…

Should I Go Back and Reneg? Recently I was offered a role as a Project Implementation Manager (In Retirement Services) .The salary range for Colorado residents was 65-89K. I’m located in NY so the recruiter said he would try to get me more. Ultimately he came back at 90K which is a bit inline with that I was seeing on Glassdoor but approx looks like I may leave 10-12K on the table. I accepted already but may get an offer from another HR company in account management around 90-100K. Need advice

I finally got a raise (after 10 years) from 45k to 50k with less than 10k in incentives while others who are just starting at lower positions make more than me..I want to bring this up but don’t want to come off in a bad way considering they finally gave me a raise this year.
