Yeah, a lot of companies are starting to think that they can just get ChatGPT to do all the writing, because why not? When in reality, it takes a lot more skill than just using a prompt in ChatGPT. I'm sure they will find out the hard way when they can't figure out why their marketing campaigns don't work (because they are a copy-and-paste of everyone else's!)
You are right about that. Story-telling is a main piece of marketing in my opinion. But I think that is why a lot of people don't make it in marketing because they may have the tech side but can't be successful if they can't sell it with their words.
I can't emphasize this enough. Marketing is storytelling and connection. Consumers are people, emotional, fallible, ridiculous people. If 2 billion people see an ad, great. But if it fails to connect, it was wasteful. There has to be a human element to the work we do, to not just annoy and bombard people, but to capture their interest and earn their trust through connection. Doing so more effectively and efficiently by using data is incredible, but lacking vision or strategic intention will lead to avoidable losses of trust and money.
Agreed. And once you've worked with AI enough. it's easy to spot, so why gamble with copy that feels hollow?
