Micromanagers with no friends or identities outside of work: GET BACK INTO THE OFFICE! Delta Variant: Well hello America Corporate Lawyers: Yikes. Shut up about in office requirements. And just like that evolution has saved the day again. There’s no reason people ever should have been pressured to return in the first place. Remote is the future.

I hope you’re right about corporate lawyers. IMO if big tech mandates their employees to come back other corporations will too

My company plans to have an onsite meeting for 3 days which would require me to travel and stay at a hotel. I recently joined the company so this will be a great opportunity to meet my team but at the same time worried about what I would bring back from the travel. I’ve two girls under 3 who go to daycare but we have tried to be as cautious as possible. I’m not sure if they would have such meetings in the future so trying to decide what is best for myself and my family. What would you do?

Tell me working from bed has been normalized by now. I thought that was the line I would never cross with WFH, but I’ve crossed it. Obviously still take meetings from my desk. This shouldn’t be anything to feel guilty about right? EDIT for context - I still live in a small apartment so there are limited options for where to work besides my desk - and sitting in one place all day is VERY draining - feel like this is probably an issue mostly for younger consultants

Close friend of mine dropped out of being a groomsman 3 days before the wedding citing finances as an issue since he'd have to fly, get a hotel, etc. I know its one person. And i have other groomsmen. But this is someone I've considered to be among my closest friends and I feel hurt that he couldn't prioritize me (I'm skipping other major plans to go to his wedding in a month). I just feel hurt and alone. Doesn't help that I'm in a new city without close friends here yet... idk what to do...

Hi everyone. I interviewed for a sales role at Amazon. I was told the role was an L6 and I can stay based in Chicago. Well, the recruiter emailed me today saying the hiring team felt I was better suited for an L5 role (estimated total comp is $140K-$150K) and I would have to move to Seattle. They'll send me an offer if that works. Any advice or opinions on how to negotiate? For context, I gave a desired salary range of $280K-$310K since this was an L6 role, and my current TC at P&G is $200K.

Started working for an agency during the pandemic and found out that they cut associate salaries for those who started during the pandemic. I’m doing the same amount of work and getting paid less just because I started during the pandemic. Seeing as the agency has won more business and things are pretty much back to normal, would it look bad for me to ask for a raise?
