Im a dad and can understand where youre coming from:
I family over the firm and stepped away from consulting years ago after the birth of my second child. I couldnt imagine being on the road and missing out on my kids early years.
I took an Enterprise PMO job at a mid-size corporation and job-hopped a few times to boost my income.
I kept my core skills up through training, seminars, and earning a few certifications, and returned to Big4 consulting when my oldest was in college and youngest was in High School.
Congratulations on your new baby and good luck in your journey; whatever path you choose!
When you returned to Big 4, did you have to do interviews? If yes, were there case interviews or more of behavior interviews?
Identity crisis or realizing that consulting is silly
Life events have a way of raising that question.
Your question is self-answering.
You identify as a mother not a provider. Equal does not mean same.
