If it is between MS in Cyber and that of CISSP I’d go with CISSP. Especially if you staying at D as it’s required for Manager. It also seen as a highly sought after cert for leadership roles in industry. Oh and in Europe CISSP is now seen equivalent to an MS :)
Only in England...
Lol first off the MS in cyber security is not a real masters degree. If anything the MSCS is the only program worth doing but most people in cyber do not have the technical capability to get it. (From a CS major from top 5 program)
Lol truth
There seems to be a lot of focus on here about what the piece of paper will do for you. Another consideration is what knowledge you'll gain and how that will help you add more value. Another consideration is where you see your career going. Do you see yourself moving into management / leadership? If so is a technical degree the best thing for you? For me I would enjoy getting a Masters of cyber security but I think I would gain more value in the long run in getting an MBA. I already have a CISSP.
The GaTech cyber is pretty technical and in-depth I hear. Not a walk in the park, unless you are already highly technical
Thanks! You too!!!!!
Technical, but thats relative to someone's experience and skillset I suppose.
There ZERO value in MS cybersecurity at Big 4 that’s just a fact. CISSP is expected. The GT MS in analytics opened up doors for my cousin to switch fields so I highly recommend it.
Go Jackets!! That being said defs focus on getting your CISSP before deciding which masters program you do.
I like GaTechs cyber program (at least the in person one) because it is spread between the college of computing (COC), ECE, and public policy, so it can be tailored to your interests. I also highly recommend the ECE prof Dr Beyah. He is a great teacher and does really cool research
Gatech is solid, don't know if prof baskerville still teaches there but he's the OG
