Pwc salary structure? Benefits
Urgent
Im not searching for a new job but an acquaintance reached out about a similar role at a similar energy company.Turns out 2 ppl threw my name in the hat. I looked into it and the position was posted 2 weeks ago.Their director wants to meet.I bet pay is one of the first things to be discussed so that no one’s time is wasted.Am I crazy for not wanting to entertain it for less than 20-25% base pay increase? Is it selfish to ask for more? I’m sure most salary conversations end in negotiation anyways?

I’d say a bit higher. I make that as an associate director. I would shoot for 125-130k
Yes they're sponsoring me but I agree that I'm not factoring it in! It's a mutually beneficial relationship
I was on the same when I moved London to NYC and I got $125k. It’s hard if you’re transferring within the same group as a lot of holding companies try and cap you at 10% but fight hard if this happens, because salaries don’t just convert like for like. You want at least $120k to be able to be able to live comparably. But obviously that is depending on your situation. In terms of living expenses, it’s a lot more expensive here. Rent is insane compared to London. (It can be cheaper if you want a roommate or you’re moving with someone) Some things are really cheap like metro. But overall, if you want the same lifestyle on £57k, i’d definitely be asking for at least $120k if not more. I know my comments are not about your area of expertise/level, but I saw your post and because I only moved about 3/4 months ago, I related to it!
I love living here. First 2-3 weeks were crazy with apartment hunting and I didn’t do anything else but that and work. That was by far the most stressful part of moving for me. I didn’t really put myself out there in the first 4-6 weeks to go out much because I was in temporary apartment and I wanted to feel more settled! My advice is don’t feel pressured to do everything straight away. It’s ok to get yourself organized first. I felt bad initially like I should be making new friends straight away. But for me, I wanted to move and get in my own neighborhood first. I knew some people in NYC already so I met with them here and there for dinner and drinks when I first arrived, but i’ve only really started actively doing new things in the last month or so. (I moved by myself and I’m mid-30s.) The London and NYC office cultures are very different for me so it’s harder to make work friends. Work friends don’t seem as big here as in London!! As someone who was quite involved in work social life in London, that’s def been an adjustment. But luckily I knew some people who moved before me, and I had some friends here outside of work. Always happy to chat more - PM me and I can you my contact info. Totally happy to meet up when you’re here!
