Moving to Chicago and trying to decide between two places. One on Lake Short drive east of Wrigley field and another in the Old Town Triangle area. The Old Town location is about $3300 more

Also don’t forget not having to deal with Cubs traffic like 20% of the year...

Your commute will be much shorter in old town. Also easier to get to the airport. Also I like old town better. Just one opinion.

like

Without question the old town one!! Addison and LSD is not convenient and there aren’t many good restaurants. Old town has a slightly more mature vibe and has tons of good walkable options.

How old? Op? If over 26 old town is great and worth it

Noting the Hemingway house

I lived in one of the high rises at Addison and LSD when I first moved to Chicago, fell in love with the neighborhood and bought a condo a block away, 10 years ago. Neighborhood is very walkable and with express busses (135&146) can get downtown quickly. Cubs traffic is easily avoidable when you are that close to LSD and lake front trail is very close.

like

Second this. “On Lakeshore Drive” is not close to Wrigley. It’s a different neighborhood with different vibes, different bus routes, etc. the only thing you will have in common is the red line stop you go to.

Also, you are about to be 26, so I would say go up north.

Besides location is there any other differences in the places that would justify the ~$300 per month?

like

Over the 12 month lease. 🐠 that have lived in Chicago. Do you think that difference is worth it being in a better neighborhood and having a shorter commute due to being closer to the train station. I’ve saved the money over the years but just not sure if I’m being overzealous with spending and maybe the difference in neighborhoods doesn’t matter that much

Have you considered river west, it’s a bit more expensive but a far superior location for late 20s early 30s

Can anyone provide referral for UBS ?

You CAN be that leader that people want to work with. 1st, self assessment is required. Be honest: As a leader, have you engaged in/accepted Attribution Bias with a dash of gender &/or race bias? (See the pic) This is something we all need to be aware of as we lead our teams, provide performance feedback, & model the behaviors we'd like to see more of on our teams. Be on the lookout for Attribution Bias in yourself & on your team. It's a hindrance to creating a high-performing, inclusive culture.

Question: Girl friends parents finally came over for a ristha. Everything went great or so I thought but now she wants to time to think about moving forward. The pain point she brought up is that we are in different states and she is feeling pressed. Although in that time she has started communicating less and I literally had to beg her to get on face time. My gut says she wants to end it but unsure. Any advice ? It's been 2 weeks since this event
