Simply let your boss know you will be glad to get to/complete these tasks the following morning when there are not time constraints and you can give them the full attention you’re sure they need to be given.

It depends on the actual urgency. Can it wait til the morning, or does it truly need to be done the same day. I have close to an hour commute on the train home. So, working on it while I travel is a possibility. If it can wait, I'll make sure I say I will do it very first thing in the morning and that I have a train to catch. I've noticed that when I set boundaries, I get more accurate timeliness. Some of my execs know me well and will drop stuff off, then tell me it's urgent, but then also say it can wait til the morning. Because they know I will often do things after hours on the train or on the weekend if I'm bored.
