My CD held a meeting yesterday and said she wants us to try and focus on the importance of microcopy—short, impactful text snippets—which has grown significantly. I'd never heard of this specific term but I guess I get what the idea is. Here to ask if you all have a favorite example of what falls under 'microcopy', and to share it! Even if you know brands that heavily rely on this style, please share their names.

Anyone ever have experience negotiating a new offer to include unvested 401k match and stock grants from your current employer? Any copywriters (in branding/otherwise) currently report to a strategist instead of a CD? Trying to have an open mind about them approving copy without judgement but it’s like pulling teeth for me.

How common is it for writers to go to the video shoot they co-wrote? If they aren’t invited, and the CDs go instead, is that a leadership perk or an insult?

Am I particularly uptight, or is writing meant to be done alone, without a partner talking to you? With past partners, we chat through script notes and then I go off to execute. Current partner likes to sit and chat as I write. To me, writing is crafting a conversation. So I can’t talk to you and simultaneously talk to this audience. Of course I can just say “I’m gonna go write.” But since we’re both CD level, I’m like…is this his first rodeo? Maybe other writers are different though.

Working with a Junior AD who’s too opinionated & doesn’t respond to my feedback well. He’ll just show ideas that I’ve already debunked/scripts that aren’t very good, which makes me look bad. Advice?
