My company is phasing out the internal audit department. My team was told the company wants to go in a different direction focusing on the operations. Realistically, I know because they don't like when we point out their control gaps.

So what does that mean? Like focus on writing/updating controls or processes for operations? Are you guys going to lose your jobs? I’m in external audit so sorry if this is common sense haha.

Is it a public company? If it is then if I were you I would update my resume and make a plan for finding a new job.
NYSE requires an IA function, so if your company is listed there then that means they’re going to outsource.
NASDAQ doesn’t require an IA function, so if your company is listed there and doesn’t care to do any IA work, then it’s a bad place for you to be anyway.
