My Dad worked for KPMG in the late 90s and also an even better salary and benefits package than I do now. He said there wasn't as much competition either. Also just throwing it in there that he was the first of his family to get a white collar job.
PWC1, on the contrary, it's just mind baffling that salaries haven't changed that much. I saw the written offer from 1998. With food prices and house prices going up, it's just scary that these companies have kept salaries the same

A2 - my Dad came from Pakistan. He worked 3 jobs during undergrad including full time at McDonalds and full time at a gas station. He changed universities 3-4 times (back and forth between community college and regular 4 year schools).
Not sure how that makes him privileged. It just means he wasn't lazy.

All we can do is move forward trying to better our lives and the lives of those around us. You're not entitled to anything beyond your own life, liberty, and pursuit of happiness. Just catching up on this thread. Seems like A2 may have injected race to a discussion where it wasn't previously present but why does everyone have to demean him for speaking his mind? Thought we were all professional enough to take higher ground on a position with which we disagree, but maybe I'm in the minority here.
