It is fascinating, because a lot of people have been wanting worker reform for decades now. There's no functional reason to force the majority of people to work a third of their waking hours, and a lot of jobs have been redundant for a while now. But I'm more curious what it's going to do to the economy to have such a reduced need for employees. Are we all just going to slide into devastating poverty?
The utopian future would be to reduce hours worked while keeping productivity and headcount the same. It wasn't expected a 100 years ago that 40+ hours would be the forever norm as technology progressed. Unfortunately our dystopian reality will likely be job cuts followed by social unrest.
Agree that we will be seeing a lot of changes in what we see as traditional work. However, I also think we’ll see a full circle moment where companies realize there are short-term gains that don’t amount to long-term goals.
These AI technology going to be huge issue down the line because customers are annoyed with AI. Some companies are going back and hiring the humans to handle the issue. Market is promoting AI without knowing anything and proper testing! All the companies are promoting - they want to earn more money and richer! It is going to be ripple effect down the line unless if AI reduces the pace and understand more about human skills.
