Hi folks. I have overall 5.5 years experience and an MBA from a tier 2 IIM (1.5 years post MBA experience). I have a senior who feels the need to break down every little thing they’re working on, repeating over and over the actions they are going to take after I ask them to do something. I get that he’s likely being overly prepared and wants to make sure I recognize he understands the asks, but I feel like it’s excessive. I’m not a micromanager and don’t need this level of detail. I want to make my senior feel supported, but is there anything I can suggest in this case without sounding like an ass?

I'm a female POC just getting started in my entry level role and my company does not have a history of using PIP on their associate, but after I gave their academy training a bad review in the survey, my manager is trying to put my on a PIP while the people who started out at the same time are not on it.
