Deloitte Consulting starts anyone with a Masters at the Consultant level, prob around 100k nowadays. I’d tell him to keep looking. Also depends how bleak their job hunt has been, if it’s the best they can do, doesn’t hurt to gain a year of experience and bounce for a legit salary.
Ah okay, that’s what someone told me once. Fair enough.
Remind them that he has an MBA. Something like this happened to a friend at EY, but when he reminded them of the MBA they gave him a new offer. A clerical error had him grouped with the undergrads and was promptly fixed.
They may not negotiate their starting salaries, but they could have him in the wrong salary band. 100% still worth checking. If he walks now, he walks. If he tries to change things by reminding them of something they should already know and they won't, he still walks. The end result is the same, but option 2 has potential for a better outcome.
DAMN Huron doing him dirty
Friends don’t let other friends work at Huron...especially not for 63K with advanced degrees. Don’t negotiate, find another gig
MBA with MD? Send him my way I can probably get him 115-130k at ACN.
Wow I’m pretty surprised. Thanks for the info tho!
Why would a PhD be offered an undergrad position? Most every other firm offers them either an MBA level, or at least pre mba level
Still, huron hires MBAs in at the associate level - above analyst, automatically. This makes no sense that they’d offer them the same level as a college grad at 22, especially at a lower salary then they were offering those folks 5-6 years ago
Pro Tip: Don’t work at Huron if you want to get paid.
Not all MBA or phd are the same ...
Can I refer him to D? Or you refer him to KPMG!
If they are that stingy with him now, very likely his raises will be straight trash as well. Don’t even bother negotiating, move onto next opportunity. He won’t be able to last more than 2 yrs once he gets tired of having to wait 5 or more years to even get to 100k
This can't possibly be accurate. Is your friend actually being offered a consulting role or is this for an internal position? Is this actually for a healthcare consulting role or is this with Studer or some other subsidiary? Huron just raised the entry level analyst roles, so I'm baffled at the number you're throwing out.
They will not negotiate. Huron is a great place to work. However base salary will lack other firms. They do have a nice bonus structure.
How nice?
Is Hurons salary really that low??
Why isn’t he doing residency and then becoming a hospital administrator? The payout there seems much higher than consulting unless he gets MBB
Do you know how much MBB pays for docs?
Can’t you clear six figures with a pharmD at cvs?!?
This is very wrong... I started as an analyst at Huron in 2014 and was paid 70 to start, and went to 85 as an associate, which is where our MBAs are automatically hired at straight out of school. Something doesn’t add up here.
Damnnnn they doing him dirty!! What did he get his doctorates in?
That's incredibly low, I hate to say this but that's probably a sign of how much they value the candidates abilities. I'm not in HC, but I'd guess a minimum of 90k is closer to standard for straight from MD programs.
Fuckkkkkkkk idc what med school he went to, 130 is so low for a doc 😭😭😭
Seems extremely low. Feels like his base should be at least double that.
No room for negotiation. But does he have any relevant skills or just multiple degrees? I ask because at Huron recruiting doesn’t seem to value advanced education very much
