I am Offered 29.5fixed by PwC for SA (L2). Currently on 25fixed. Should I join ? In terms of WLB.! My current employer on fishbowl shows Deloitte but have left Deloitte a year back. Currently in a firm with good WLB but PWFH is a big win for me that PwC is offering.
Any guidance or fist hand experience sharing is highly appreciated.

We were in a similar situation (both freelance, production, unpredictable hours). We ended up getting a full time nanny. It feels insane when we aren’t working but we love her and you cannot get anything done when you’re taking care of a baby- that includes job search. You’ll need to set hours but ideally get one that is younger without kids of their own they have to rush home to- so if they need to stay late they can (be respectful of this and try to give as much forewarning as possible).
How do you guys find your nannies? I have a SitterCity inbox full of applications but can’t bring myself to start the interview process. So overwhelming- any advice/recos appreciated!
OP, take a workday afternoon and hang out at the park closest to your house. Look for nannies that are actually watching their charges and are attentive and kind. Ask them if they have any fellow nannies who are looking to work for a family nearby.
@op theres no PM on fishbowl but her name is Sarah Canary. Top 10% highest ranked caregivers of all of care.com not just SoCal. Pricey but cutting costs when my childs livelihood was at stake wasn’t an option.
@as1 looking her up now, thank you 🙏🏼
@op
I feel u. I have a nanny and family.
I dont mean to hijack your post. But i am in production too and i keep wanting (needing because of location of babies childcare) to get into designory. And I can't seem to get in despite seemingly perfect exp.
Any advice?
Have you thought about a live-in? That might offer the most flexibility.
Live-in au pair. Some specialize in infants.
In this industry I have only seen parents with nannies or highly involved family members. Or one of the parents has to stay home or find a pt job.
We've always had a nanny. We own our own biz plus I work FT. Without child care that could flex to our schedule, we would be screwed.
OP, are you by chance in LBC? If so I have an awesome Nanny reco.
@as1 would love a Nanny reco, please forward! (Can you pm me? I’m new to fishbowl)
@fip1 sorry for the late response! Just figuring out fishbowl. Designory is v corporate and slow to get anything done,chances are your info is lost in translation. Keep trying! I’m just a freelancer so I hold no clout at all or else I’d prob have more advice. Good luck
