How long does it take from applying to start date generally? Looking to line something new up after my 12 weeks notice, not sure if applying now is ridiculous. I’ve always assumed if you get an offer you’re expected to start in 4-6 weeks.

If you got a bad first performance review (actually bad, so figure a 1 or 2 out of 5, but no PIP and given the chance to improve, and also told it’s fine because first review), and you’re not getting fired over it, would you put a lot of effort into trying to move firms once you’re able to say you have a year of experience, or would you just try to improve your reputation at the firm you’re already at, since leaving after 1 year isn’t generally ideal?
One thing that has stayed with me is my experience with my first white collar manager during my EY internship, the question she raised was why I cared about work and that it was just an internship so I shouldn’t be that focused....it was an interesting perspective especially for me coming from the definition of a non-target and her from elite schools in sciences and prior to EY working in medical research...what I take from it is to understand people’s context and ensure I don’t belittle work
