My last job micromanaged every spreadsheet, email, and meeting. My current role swung the other way with almost zero direction, no priorities, and a constant “just figure it out.” Somehow, both environments are exhausting in completely different ways. I'm in finance/tech FPA, looking to go back to the defense industry for a 25% increase in TC. But wanted to see if I should leverage the new salary with current company to see if they'll match.

Background: got a promotion at current company that didn't come with sufficient increase . After stating my case I was told it would be evaluated next October, which is what prompted the initial job search.

Current TC 103K [88/15], offer 125k base [+discretionary bonus].

Thoughts on Citi's Leveraged Portfolio Group at the Analyst level? I'm curious if anyone has additional details on the group for an Analyst spot. What does the group focus on in terms of work, what are hours like, decent exit Ops, interview process etc? I’ve completed the first interview with the hiring manager and a colleague, and have been fortunate to get to the next stage but im unsure how to prepare. I’ve done the usual compentencies, strengths and weaknesses and company research. Just found out that end of the year I will be promoted from analyst directly to VP and since it’s such a large jump I’ll be the lowest paid VP in asset management at only $135k TC. Should I stay it out and wait for TC to align or take the promotion and jump ship bc I will likely get paid more elsewhere given how recruiters/other companies eat up hiring recently promoted ppl from other firms?

I need help figuring out if I’m being underpaid. I’m working in real estate private equity and I focus on fund models and property valuations. I’m currently at base $80k and 20% bonus. On top of that I have 5 years experience and a masters in finance. I’m good at my job and receive positive reviews from everyone. I feel like I should be compensated better but the company says that’s what they think I’m worth. Any help or insights would be great!

Need career advice. Trying to break into a finance role, preferably an Analsyt role but I have no transferable experience. I worked as a mortgage loan officer (which is sales) for 2 years after college, but since mortgage is such a niche industry, no hard skills transfer and have no relevant undergrad internships unfortunately. I know I can essentially get any sales job I want in finance IE: financial advisor etc. but don’t want to be stuck in sales forever. Any advice?

Is there such things as FP&A positions in Big 4? If so, are there better times to make the change than others (I.e. at senior vs manager)? I’m currently in FP&A and looking to work at a Big 4, or another company that offers the ability to move abroad. My current company and many others I know about do not offer the mobility to do so until much later, which is not what I want. Thank you.
