Hi there, I’ve been told that Deloitte (London, UK) is going to make me an offer but haven’t heard back and it’s been over two weeks. The recruiter mentioned it would be around the “m2 grade”. Any idea what this pay range is? … I have 3 YOE working in NHS finance and have applied for a position in Risk Advisory, public sector. Curious what life at Deloitte is like? Does a work life balance exist?

EY 🐠: technically will get info via recruiter this week but curius how is the onboarding process? Havent gotten the background check yet. I start in November. Trying to understand the timing of recruiters sending out links for on onboarding. Also, in my application on Careers Page, it still says, “In technical interviews” even though my recruiter has already sent me Offer Terms. Is this anything to worry or am I just overthinking?

This is so true. I used to attach so much of my self worth to my job and performance. It was really unhealthy and a hard cycle to break. The more I focused on work outcomes, the more I pulled away from personal pursuits that actually made me happy. I wanted to do everything to perfection and please everyone. But trying to do everything often means doing nothing particularly well. I focus on my strengths and interests and ensure I’m making impact where it matters to me. I push back to protect my personal time. And I’ve identified the leaders and coworkers I respect and work to build trusted relationships with them. If the toxic ones don’t like me, that’s fine, they are not my cup of tea either. Just a few of the ways that I’ve adjusted what success looks like in my career and personal life. Oh, and always knowing my market value and having options to walk away at any moment helps too 💁🏼♀️

Once I learned to only stress about things I can control, my overall quality of life improved. Do I need to grow and learn? Can I handle things better or learn to make better decisions? Of course! But there also things outside my control that I learn to not worry about, but still be mindful of.
Also shifting from a deficit mindset to a growth mindset helped as well.
