What’s the wlb like at VCA?
Hi there, I’ve been told that Deloitte (London, UK) is going to make me an offer but haven’t heard back and it’s been over two weeks. The recruiter mentioned it would be around the “m2 grade”. Any idea what this pay range is? … I have 3 YOE working in NHS finance and have applied for a position in Risk Advisory, public sector. Curious what life at Deloitte is like? Does a work life balance exist?

I have one 7 year old and a wife who works from office 3 to 4 days a week, and same issue during the summer between summer camps.
Gotta get them out of the house with daycare / preschool, for their benefit and for yours. You can also try to negotiate with your wife to get out of the house to work maybe... When I travel to client site, it's hard on my wife, but I get so much work done, and can deliver at my old pace and re-build my reputation that gets eroded during the other times.
Is she asking for your help or are you proactively jumping in because you're there? I dealt with this during the pandemic with 3 kids and it was terrible. The distractions were endless.
I personally think your only real chance is to go into the office 2-3 days per week. You could try locking yourself in your home office with backgrounds music but there's a chance your wife and kids will resent you for it. No matter how much your wife agrees to leave you alone, if she needs help and you're physically available, resentment will likely grow if you don't jump in.
She does not ask. I hear the chaos and see how overstimulated she is and I can’t help but go out and help. I feel it’s the right thing to do but also don’t want to slip on performance and get let go, as i am sole breadwinner. Maybe going into office is the move 2-3x
