After joining FDD it can take a bit to get you “plugged in”. I know I wasn’t super busy my first two months, just give it time and you’ll start getting picked up on deals. In the meantime I’d just reach out to seniors and managers and ask if you can help them.
That seems to be exactly what I’m experiencing. Been reaching out to a few people without trying to bother them every day for work. Currently barely getting 30 client hours a week in at the moment. Looking forward to digging in more…

Don’t worry about utilization. Just focus on learning as much as you can on each deal so that you become progressively more helpful and develop a brand as a strong contributor.

When I moved to FDD I sat on the bench for 2 months while they waited for a deal to put me on that (back in B4). Probably only getting any work at all due to this deal market. I wouldn’t worry about it at all
I started in June, I was told utilization in your first year is generally disregarded

Utilization is bad, I started a few months ago but it’s been slowly going up and up. Just be patient
Try getting involved on a deal early. Being part of kick off calls, data gathering and databook prep, mgmt meetings etc. The more knowledge you have about the deal, the easier it is for you to help on more parts of process. Some of this is outside of your control but I’d suggest seeking opportunities to get in early and staying involved throughout the whole process as best you can.
This was me approximately 5 months ago (when I joined). Thought I was a pariah- but after like 3.5 months, I started getting staffed on deals and now Im booking like 55-65 billable hour weeks. The work will come, be patient.
Appreciate it

I like your confidence but do you know why you are bouncing around? Typically when people see a good staff they’d want to keep the person on their deals as much as possible, even if that person is really green. Just because you think you do great work doesn’t mean those above you think the same…
Appreciate it. Never had any issues with utilization in audit. Was 100% for two years. Maybe every two days is an exaggeration. But lots of stop start deals. Just wanna get working. Thanks
Hey what audit industry were you in before joining FDD ?
