I would consider moving closer to the airport – Candler Park, East Atlanta Village, Reynoldstown! This is the area where I live, and I have a daughter who’s in daycare. There are lots of Montessori options around here as well as the YWCA on briarcliff is an affordable option that people like a lot.
Have you looked at Alpharetta? It’s a bit farther from ATL but it’s really nice and it won’t break the bank. Dunwoody as others above have suggested as well.
For daycare, take a look at Primrose schools. They are franchises so it’s important to research and look at the reviews and staff profiles of the properties you’re looking at. We had our 1y there for a year and loved it. We did end up transferring him once we got a spot at my work’s daycare. Primrose staff were really amazing, we missed them for a long time after transferring.
Best of luck !
Not sure about daycare since not a parent yet. But I'd recommend Dunwoody in an apartment setup (home ownership in Dunwoody is on the expensive end of the curve) until your baby is old enough to go to middle school when you probably want to consider higher ranking school districts in the outer suburbs. Dunwoody has a transit station direct line to Midtown Downtown. Fairly okay to use during daytime. Dunwoody relatively low crime compared to inside perimeter.
Like ey1 said. Dunwoody area is good. Maybe Sandy springs. Cobb county isn’t too far from the city. Like the 30039 area. Not sure about daycare, I heard they are all expensive unless it’s an home daycare.
