I hate seeing so many dogs off leashes. It scares me so much not only whether I or my children are going to get bit but, like you said, run after a squirrel or bunny and get hit by a car.
Yes, I agree with this 100 percent! There is nothing wrong about trying to control our pets' impulses. So that they can behave when other people are around and just be all around good dogs.
Totally! Just watch an episode of Cesar Milan and you'll get what OP is trying to point out. I hope more people used the leash as a training tool, more than seeing it as a punishment for their pets.
This is old news, but it may still be a new concept to new dog owners. This is a memo for dog owners to properly train their dogs at home so that they do not become a bother to the community and become another Marley.
Sometimes you just need to ignore people. No matter what tools or methods you use, someone will always feel the need to tell you how to do it "a better way."
I kind of agree. There's no dog device created to be cruel including choke chains and the like. It's how you use them that makes them cruel or not. Every dog is different. I think most people just don't know how to use these training tools.
And easily distracted. Haha. Let them think what they want.
I cannot go on a walk with my dog if he's not on a lease. I cannot afford any accidents. I hope people understand that.
