I’m 26 weeks pregnant and trying to figure out my leave. I live in NJ and work at PwC, any fishes know the policy for NJ and PwC? The leave center has not been much help and I want to plan NOW not like 60 days before. I was told NJ gets two weeks before due date and PwC gives you two weeks as well.

Personally, I plan on hiring a cleaner to handle the housework once I give birth. My husband is great and does most of our cooking, but I don't want to balance a new baby as a FTM and stress about cleaning.
If the baby is 14 months, they can sit or perhaps walk by now? I’d say try to involve them. Give them a small towel and have them wipe the floor etc. My baby loved to emulate us bc they don’t know the difference from cleaning or play.
Also, getting a kitchen helper tower was life changing. When you’re cooking or doing the dishes, plop them in there, give them something to do, and then you can have your hands free

Totally agree with this, ours is 15 months and we’ve started asking her to help with things and it’s made a huge difference. She LOVES being involved. While it’s a little slower, we can get a lot more done when she’s engaged doing it vs. trying to distract or occupy her with something else.

My house is definitely not pristine after giving birth but I’ve lowered my expectations of what the home should look like/how much I’ll get done. But usually I’ll have my husband be with the baby or vice versa and the other person will meal prep 2-3 meals for the week. Breakfast can be simple with eggs or oatmeal etc. and cleaning we kind of just do when we can. Babies taking a 20 min nap? Let’s sweep the living room or quickly make the bed. It’s about fitting in when you can! Don’t be afraid to lean on your village. But be sure to hav grace with yourself! There’s a lot happening at once with a baby at home.
It all depends on the day, baby's mood, and how dire the chore is. At that age, I'd baby wear, incrementally get kitchen chores done while baby slept and ate (most common), give baby an activity that'd keep them occupied for 10-15 min, or solo but nearby exploration while I worked. There would almost always be a musical element, so I'd either sing while describing the chore I was doing or play nursery rhymes. Snacks are also a great distraction, and if I were really desperate, I'd turn on Miss Rachel
Mine is only 5 months so it may be easier but:
1) Put him in pack n play in the kitchen with his Baby Einstein toys while I clean
2) I hate to admit this since he’s so young but sometimes I put a YouTube video from Lucky Baby Star on tv while I clean. It’s like dancing numbers and letters. It buys me 15 mins while he’s in pack n play I don’t think it’s the worst thing in the world (but who knows it could be rotting his brain)
3) Ask my partner to help at the end of the night
Self play in her play pen, naps, or husband and I trade off time post dinner / on weekends so one is giving her full attention and the other is cooking or cleansing or doing g whatever is needed
