Female here and I hate to say it! But whenever I’m pull to a new project I secretly hope I don’t get a female lead. 😞 I had some interesting experiences with women leads, which it does not apply to all women!, but I feel a bit hesitant and I feel is ptsd lol how can I overcome this mentality?! Compliance question here, I have always thought of the SALT deduction on the fed return as a perm item & have treated as such in such sch M-3. I see that some people put it as a temp on sch M-3. What is the justification for treating it as a temp on the M-3. You don’t set up a deferred on the def RF for the state tax deduct & it is also a rate impacting item (I know that some temps can be rate impacting). But this all leaves me to side with perm. Does anyone know the logic behind temp treatment?

It’s hard to trust the partners/leadership when they want us to return to office as being better when we increase offshoring? Also, the pressure on billable hours when all that really matters is how much our fixed labor costs vs. how much we can bill (which is usually fixed fee or at least a range) and the fixed labor costs of offshoring is significantly cheaper so the hours don’t matter. Am I mistaken by this viewpoint?

Intl Tax folks, how long did it take before you were confident in your role? I've worked for the past 3 years in a practice that is heavily consulting based (inbound and outbound structuring) and I feel like I'm only just starting to understand the foundational concepts (where I can explain them clearly to clients) and offering a shred of value. Then I'll have calls where partners discuss complex tax, legal, treasury and other related concepts that all go over my head.. it becomes overwhelming

History of my firm: small (7 employees, two interns), was a single CPA show for 20 years. Cont.

Working for a senior who is beyond horrible. She talks to you like you’re stupid and makes it sound like you’re absolutely terrible at what you’re doing. She’s made 5 other associates cry during her 5 year career. Got someone fired and made another person quit. It’s known around the office that she can no longer have a female associate, because she talks down to females more than she does males. I came along and thought I could deal with it but she literally makes me want to not log on tomorrow.
