Wow I would love if the partners at my firm cared enough to do this...

it’s fair. Your scale is tied to non-equity comp. If they raise yours, they raise ours to keep away from compression. Our comp is set by the comp committee in december. They want to do it all at once so they can budget. I think it will happen, I’ve gotten signals it will happen, buts gonna be next year unless something changes.
Equities got the details today - voting is ongoing.
Second A6!
In my city, we’re so far off market pay it’s startling. Senior OD associates make less than second years at regional firms. SH—I hope you are right about a forthcoming announcement or we may continue to see really high turnover.
A4 - glad it helps. I was an associate in the firm for 8 years and had shareholders who were very open about the firm’s systems and the numbers and it’s only right to pass on that insight to the extent it’s helpful.
@OP --- I believe Compensation Committee and Board met recently (earlier last week, based on what I heard at my local office). Any expected timeline here for an announcement?
Really happy to hear this - thanks, OP!

I understand the feelings. What I would say is that We are never going to pay market for compensation. We are not a general practice firm where we have departments that have significantly higher rates to offset costs. We are not ever going to be on the Cravath scale if that is what you are looking for from Ogletree Tama I understand but you’re better off finding a job somewhere else. But, what I will say is that we need to be in the ballpark in these areas where we are below market, and in a lot of those places we are more like in the parking lot.
I understand why the firm wants to wait until the end of the year to raise salaries. Associate salaries are tied in some part to non-equity shareholder salaries and those won’t be updated until the comp committee meets in January. I wish the firm would announce a clear intention to make a change for next year even if the details were still up in the air.
See comments below. Latest word is that there’s to be a vote today.
any new rumblings about an actual OD Associate Comp Increase? Seems some offices (even those in small southeastern markets) are having trouble retaining associates and staff
I was getting excited about a decent bump coming, and now I see that it might just be the 1900 bonus rolled into a misleading “base increase” … here we go again at OD…
Is the OD Bonus 1 changing for this year or is that effective for next year?
Our OMS said the 10% remains in place for this year and then reverts back next year to the flat amount
When does the first bonus (for meeting min. Hours) get paid out? I know last year was December but I’m not sure if that was just because of COVID.
