@OP as an analyst yourself, do you work for the analytics team? Or say for a social team? Because that would answer your question. Depending on the agency you work for, you might do totally different things.
E.g. You could be part of the analytics team and never have to analyse the data, just do auditing and set ups. Or you could be called a social analyst and have no clue how say Google Analytics works. Or you could be part of the analytics team and do both set up and analysis. Or you could be working in a totally different role and doing one of those things.
Say in my role I have to do loads of data crunching and literally "analytics analysis", but I am not an analyst.
For our team, we do ad ops and analytics/reporting on campaigns. However, those two roles are splitting and members of our team are choosing one to focus on. Not sure if I'll remain an "analyst" bc I chose ad ops but that's what it means for my team.
^^^in our company that's defo three separate job roles! Adops is one, analytics (as audit and set up) is another, and pretty much everybody in different investment teams does analytics in terms of reporting.
