One thing I hate is to email someone, give them a chance to respond, etc… they “act” like they don’t see my emails until I start hitting reply all. Now all of a sudden they see the email and wanna start replying…

How do you deal with unresponsive summers? I’m a junior and overseeing my first project with summers (5 in total). Two are unresponsive and do not acknowledge my emails. Do I need to make it clear that I expect acknowledgement when I assign work? The other three don’t have a problem with this, so I’m not sure what it is.

What advice will you give to yourself when you were a newbie in the professional life? Give the context too.
I’ll go first- I’ll tell myself to not overshare, especially to the manager. People will generally make an image of you and judge you on basis of that even if you have changed a lot.

For freelancer that work with multiple clients at once. Do you have any tools to manage calendars across different emails? Ideally, when I get a meeting invite from one client it would block my availability on my other accounts.

Can I still work as a telemarketer even though I have a noticeable accent? People don't say they can't understand me but they seem relieved when they get to talk to somebody else. Hey all - 2 years in consulting so far as a fairly "type b" personality - relaxed, uncompetitive, enjoy socializing with my colleagues. To be clear, this is not the same as being lazy or irresponsible - I am diligent and do my work well.

Nonetheless I think we can generally say finance/professional services etc. reward "type a" habitudes on its face.

Thought it could be fun/funny/supportive to share experiences as the chiller brains in these anxiety-fueled fields.

Hi. People Manager here. I've been one for 12 years now and I encourage my team to not be "yes" people. At this time, it feels like my manager wants me and my team to be yes people for her. How do I deal with this? I've never been a yes person and I don't preach this to my reports. I don't know what to do. Help?

My natural instinct is to assume rejection if I have conflict with a partner or don’t think my feelings are reciprocated. I’ll try to bring it up with them, but I’ll say “if you want to end this feel free” so it doesn’t hurt me (and they can say what they really mean instead of sugarcoating). Someone told me today that they just assume I’m not interested because I always seem to “run” but I’m not sure how to bring up problems/feelings otherwise. How do you approach these hard questions?
