What the poster above said^... An alternative I've used in the past (when convinced on the directionality of the underlying) is a long vertical using leaps... Buy a long dated ITM call (I've used 80 Delta or above, usually 90 though) and short a more near term OTM (typically 60-90 days, 10 or so Delta). Hedges your theta in case stock is stuck in the muddle for long plus you'll keep rolling short OTM calls... gamma is hedged a bit too, doesn't account for much value in the ITM (given high Delta)... The margin is basically the cash outlay on long DITM call so you've somewhat boosted the return profile too.. not the juice of a successful long OTM call option like you proposed but a better risk / reward, given my goals

Very torn on leasing vs buying. Wife is frugal and wants to buy used SUV cuz we don’t rack up a ton of annual miles. I like flexibility of lease as I don’t want to deal with repairs and have 2 kids under four who will get vehicle messy + northeast winters. With budget around 30K if buy would prob go used Toyota Highlander Hybrid. If lease open to a lot of other options. Any advice?

In my HSA I am holding 4% in ARKG and 4% in PBW (clean energy index). Both are down 50%... looking to consolidate my funds, so I am considering selling them both and allocating the 8% into something like XT? I understand I made those purchases in times of extreme optimism, so that is an F on my part.

My other funds in there are 64% VTI, 16% VXUS, 5% VWO and 7% EMQQ.

Looking to buy, hold, and DCA. Would you swap ARKG/PBW for something like XT?

Currently maxing out retirement, with everything going to Roth 401k. Lots of posts for backdoor Roth IRA, but based on my research, the biggest benefit is the breadth of investment options, which I'm not too concerned with.

Thoughts on the London (zones 1 & 2) property market (flats or houses) in the next few years? I’m considering buying this year bc I’ve got £ for a down payment & could get a mortgage with a monthly payment same as my current rent, but I would maybe sell in a few years to co-buy a family home with my partner. I’m a bit concerned the market’s at peak now, plus stamp duty sucks. On the other hand, I read that property values are meant to go up 25% in 3 years, so maybe I should get on ladder now??

We encountered an issue with a car dealership client where they record a used car in their inventory based on their current valuation and a lower cost is paid for the purchased cars. They call the difference as "undernet" and this practice is common for the industry as per client. Based on IAS 2 an inventory should be recognised lower of cost or NRV. Anyone who encountered this issue with their client before? Can you share your experience and how did you resolve this issue?

So my good friend currently works at Tesla and got a promotion and she has the option to do the following:

1) Recieve $40k in RSUs at the avg price of stock in July.

Another way of looking at it is receiving ~$80k in RSUs at the current price b/c it’s doubled since July

2) Receive $40k of call options at the price in Sept 21st

Both vest over ~3.5 years

She has to decide by Sept 4th. A combination of allocating to both 1&2 is potentially possible. She’s risk-neutral.
