It's a tough group. It's separated by private and regulated funds. There are staff attorneys. Some folks love funds work.
Ropes caused 2 of my BU Law classmates to have mental breakdowns and a third to take extended leave for exhaustion in their first 2 years. They were normal before Ropes Boston--all 3 were in my section. Make of that what you will.

Not sure — my SO was at Ropes, and this is coming from her. It seems like tax / ECEB might be a bit more protective.

That is the sense I got about Ropes litigation as well and I know people who left within a year
There are some nice people, and everyone is really smart. They’re a bit quicker than other practice groups at the firm to pull the layoff trigger.
The layoff point is really important and one I haven’t heard before! Are there other corporate groups that are less lay-off happy?
