How do you show God’s love in the classroom?
Hi everyone!!! Last year I put together a list of classrooms to exchange valentines with! We mailed 1 valentine to each class and included a picture if we could, and a few things about where we live and things we do!
I currently have 13 classes signed up! The more the merrier!!
We have classes CA, WI, PA, KS, TX, RI, MI, Canada, New Zealand.

My very best advice is to allow students to partner work or small groups. I have found that many students will engage with a small group better than an entire class. It is an extra bonus if you have bilingual students who can do some or most of the translating for you. Even if you can’t partner everyone, it will at least be a smaller group that may be distracting.
They offered done good advise, including what you said about the small group or partners. I'm going to try to incorporate more of that in since I have to rewrite a lot of my lesson plans anyway
In my science classroom, I have found incorporating whole brain teaching techniques and Kagan structures not only benefited my ELL students but all my students; especially students struggling with understanding, concepts, and vocabulary. It is difficult to translate everything for students. However using these structures allows you to partner your students with other students that would be a good fit to help them assimilate the lesson and everyone benefits.
I will have to check out these techniques. I feel like our corporation is failing teachers and students by not giving us better training and resources.
