For those that transferred internally from Audit —-> TAS, how did you talk to your partner about making the move? Just talked to mine and he seemed pretty upset. Our business is understaffed and I am considered a “high” performer. Just wondering if this should have been generally expected/your experiences were the same.

A coworker asked me to do something, I should have questioned it but did it because I trusted their seniority. I got called out for it by our boss on an email. Should I say something? I am planning to apologize to my boss and mention I’ll run it by them next time. But not sure if I should mention I had checked with my coworker who was in charge of that area.

I just finished a big jury trial with a senior partner (SP). There were co-parties w/separate counsel. SP mentally checked out, to the point that co-counsel was asking what SP was doing/if SP was okay. I ended up handling most everything. SP did a few parts but went rogue and did things that were offensive/risky/bad for client. It became clear that SP is not performing like SP used to and may be a liability. Do I tell someone at my firm? Don’t want to offend SP or cause drama, but I’m concerned.

So I have family situation I've been dealing with and yesterday at a company function outside the office, my supervisor brought it up in front of a bunch of people. Any one works in a one man / one woman tax department? How do you effectively manage the relationships with outside tax providers, and with accounting/finance department inside of the company? I started a new job recently and then had my PTSD seriously triggered, plus a panic attack. Felt so on edge and low on emotional resources for over a week that I wasn’t myself and apparently really rubbed a few people the wrong way so I was called in for a talking to 😣. I let people know there were some personal things going on, but didn’t mention the PTSD—very unsure if that’s something to share, or if I’d be judged for it or... I don’t even know. Has anyone else dealt with PTSD and had it impact them at work, and how did you handle it?
