Looking for feedback for a Project Management Platform for SMBs, freelancers and Founders
Hi! A friend recently launched a Project Management software called Heycollab - I think it’s pretty cool and like the UI but I’d love to get more feedback - they’re very passionate about the product and would appreciate the help!

The greatest hack in LA is to live close to where you work if you have an in office policy. You can live on the west side, as many people do, and your commute to west side offices would be around 10-20min by car or bike.
If you live on the east side, which a lot of people do, your commute to the west side would take approx 45min to 1h drive.
For reference, traffic flows east to west in the morning, and west to east in the evenings. It can be pretty grueling so having a nice car makes a big difference. :)
I turned down a job in Santa Monica solely because I live on the east side and they wanted me in the office three times a week.
If you’re moving to LA for the first time, I would go to the west side just because there are more agencies there so you can hop between jobs without having to find a new apartment every time.
A lot of agencies are West LA. Culver City, Hollywood, Playa Vista, sometimes Venice.
If I had to drive freeway traffic crosstown (Burbank, Downtown, East of the 101, Glendale, OC, etc) 3+ times a week, place must be paying me a LOT to submit to that much car time. Otherwise it just doesn't make much sense for me (and I'd argue most people).
And frankly these employers don't pay enough/aren't secure enough. So I'd argue RTO policy/commute is a way bigger factor in this town; it's just geography and public transit reality.
Moved to East LA last year from nyc and work in the Westside 3x a week. The commute is absolute hell, 45mins minimum usually over an hour. I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone, even though I love my neighborhood. I managed to negotiate flexible in office hours so I try to drive in a little later to avoid traffic and leave the office earlier but even then it’s not a perfect system.

i live in NYC btw! haven’t worked in another city yet, so just trying to understand what it’d be like
I live in Mar Vista which is a bit east of the west side, near Culver City. I work from home, since my company is based in New York, fortunately. If you have to commute, plan a long one. LA traffic is a beast.
Interesting! Is there less of a culture of working in person in LA? how often do people usually meet in office?
LA is a cool city but I’d live somewhere else cheap and fly into a LA hotel to do intense work and fly out.
