Working for a big insurance provider and currently at a grade 6 individual contributor role and want to get a grade 8 manager role. Managers make 40% more than my current salary on average. Is it crazy to think I would get offered that because it’s a senior position? I know 10% is a promotion raise at the company but that wouldn’t make sense jumping up 2 levels. Thoughts?

I want to further develop my BI and DE skills. Currently exploring paths of AWS certs with some others mixed in, does this seem like a good strategy:

I read a lot of self help books so I know a lot of the theory, and books peppered with examples help, but I feel like most 1 paragraph examples don’t five justice to how hard it may be to change a behavior.

So i have been fortunate that i have managed to go through my career without the need for a degree. I was lucky enough to have been hired by one of the worlds top consulting firms, worked with a whole lot of big clients and travelled a lot. It's gotten to the point where I am not even asked about the lack of a degree on my resume. Personally though, it bothers me. Is there any advice for networking into projects when you don’t know many people at the firm yet? I always to help on BD work when I’m on the bench, but it never turns into any billable work. Every time I have talked to a partner/senior manager I was told I don’t have the skill set they’re looking for, but I don’t know how to build up from there. Feeing very lost but I want to improve my approach.
