I bought a schott perfecto jacket and that maxed my budget for the year.

If you're paying yourself first ie maxing out retirement plans, saving accounts and comfortable with your debt ratio then no. Enjoy! It never hurts to talk to a financial advisor. ***this is not financial advice***

like

Total is probably around $1k in fun spending (90% of that being food+drinks).

I make sure to max out my 401k and other retirement account contributions so the cash coming in bi-weekly is “fun money” although most of it just goes into my savings and/or brokerage accounts.

I blow like 5k/month on my Amex bill and rent. Probably 1500 of that is for fun and clothes. Also make like 200k TC

If you have to ask then it is probably too much. This is a very personal question. I think the real answer is what do you want? Short term? Long term? If you don't have any goals set then it is really easy spend money on almost anything because you don't have anything better to do with it. I didn't really understand this until I was in my 30's. My number now is about 1% of takehome pay. I allocated everything before I earn it so it 'needs' to go where I allocated it or I can't get what I really want. I can get by just fine spending $60/month on 'entertainment' so that is my budget and I usually end up rolling most of that over. Figure out what you want to have 5-10 years from now and work backwards. Use that to set some goals. That is what works for me.

Rule of thumb is paying yourself 10%.

21% (1400) for fun money (restaurants, bars, coffee shops, shopping, fast food, ubers, golf)

If you’ve maxed out on your retirement and emergency fund savings, paid max on any revolving debt, school loans, etc., then enjoy yourself.

I spent 15% on cars which are my hobby/passion

The question is how much you save for later. If that is sufficient you can spend all the rest on fun. Not the opposite

As long as you save 5-10% for a rainy day fund, put in as much as you can for 401k and retirement, comfortably cover all debts (mortgage/rent/car etc), then why not?

I spend 0. Because I m USDC resource.

What is work-life balance like in big tech legal? I’m currently in house at a large multinational; I like my job and I get paid fine, with a very good WLB (40-45 hrs). I want to look into FAANG-type opportunities as they would mean a huge pay bump, and I think I’m qualified, but I have no idea about the hours, and I don’t want to substantially give up WLB, as that’s why I left BigLaw. I don’t want to be miserable again. I know Amazon is poorly reputed for lawyer WLB… what about other places?
