I want to buy a large TV for Cyber Monday but have always been lower income. I would feel bad having family over with an expensive TV. I don't really need it. Our house is still very much low budget. I haven't made any real upgrades since getting a new job.

Is this a weird rationalization or logical? I am kind of torn so I considered just using that money for a vacation and maybe buying a TV next year... though I'll likely do this again at that time.

Confession: The only in-law that I had a great relationship with passed away unexpectedly. The two remaining in-laws were on thin ice with me prior due to years of drama, nagging, and disgusting display of wealth. I believe their demand of money and general assholish behavior drove in law to his death. I love my S.O. but I can’t deal with the drama anymore.

I want to have a family and a future that is drama-free and full of love and don’t want to surround myself with negativity.

Best way to deal with family members who treat you like the family therapist? Over thanksgiving my aunt disclosed some intense stuff to me and asked me for my help/opinion, and it was uncomfortable. I don't feel good saying just don't talk to me about stuff like that, but I also am not paid to give therapy to my own family and the things they tell me put me in weird situations with other family members. Help!

My husband does not show affection openly and is quite lazy in bed, and I thought I could deal with it because I love him, but it’s really really beginning to annoy me. For example, he refuses to do any foreplay and basically asks that I get on top of him most of the time when we have have sex- if I push him to do anything else he basically just refuses to have sex at all as some sort of ‘protest’. My fiancé will NOT stop talking about her ex. After I found out they were texting arguing she justified it by saying it was about the dogs and not them. Salam. 23M here - all my life I’ve had my back on our faith - never really prayed but had imaan (I guess).
