Hey All! I was recently laid off in November as part of a company mass layoff. I'm really taking this opportunity to shoot for a Director level position in Marketing. (I've been a marketing professional for over 10 years). Partners/Associates. How does someone balance the fine line between sending follow up networking emails to people who did not respond to the first networking email (sent pre-pandemic)? Having targeted alumni of my schools, I know people are flooded with emails daily (especially partners) and it may have been poor timing as people are busy. I don’t want to become an annoyance, but I do want to try to connect with fellow alums (with hopes of a job at some point (more than 1 year from now)).

I think it's fantastic this bowl has been made, it can be very hard to get away from US- centric consulting info. Whenever I search for consulting salary benchmarks I consistently find US consulting salaries which I believe isn't at all comparable to UK salary figures for the same role. Advice pls - was confirmed that Deloitte would be moving to offer approx 3 weeks ago. Offered lower than expected salary, asked for an increase and haven’t received any confirmation on the original or revised offer. Chased recruiter a few times only to receive a reply that its pending partner approval. Passed up a better offer in favour of getting into consulting and have another offer which I cannot afford to lose. Passed up offer 85k FNZ SC, current offer £80K Barclays VP, Deloitte -70k+6.7.

Interviewed (1st round) at EY for an SC role (40% higher pay). Didn’t know SC was the same as C for Deloitte. Up for SC at Deloitte this summer - any room for negotiation with EY for M instead? Contd

Just got an offer from PwC for 47.5K for SA role in Manchester. Feels kinda low considering everyone just got a 7%+ pay raise. Can anyone comment if this is in line or not? I was told this would put me above the SA band
