Got an interview with Amazon within their Advertising department. I hear working for Amazon can be great if you get into the right department. Anyone have insights to their advertising department? Good or bad? Also, would love some interview tips if you have them! (It’s for an Executive Assistant position) thank you!
Hi Fishes, Sometime back I was interviewed for Technical Support Job role in my domain. T1 went well. T2, in my understanding was better only (not great like T1 but not blunder. I felt it was nice and i replied majority of questions). They released the feedback after 10 days with "Not Positive". I am not totally sure with feedback as I replied majority of questions correct. I am being bit curious with "Microsoft" tag. What can be the reason?
Discussion appreciated.

I job hopped to promotions. The increases I got would have not been possible with the internal promotions and it seemed impossible to get promoted even when performing above and beyond.
This is definitely an instance where you will have an easier time getting promoted by either moving to a new company or at least to a new team at a higher level within your current company. I had a similar situation. Our program lead left and was replaced by someone who thought little of me. Only promoted when someone left and there was no one else left. Realized my career progression was stalled bc of her and she would stay in that role until retirement like 10-15 years away.
Hi!
Next time you get feedback that’s not specific enough you may want to ask “what do you mean exactly?”.
At the same time, you may want to look into how have you been networking so far:
Who are you networking with? Who could you be networking with that you havent so far?
How are you doing it? How can you make it more impactful?
Are you focusing on relationship building or more of one off interactions?
How do you think you come across? How would you like to come across?
What skills & knowledge can you further work on?
You can start with answering these questions and then see what comes up.
All the best! :)
If you’d like to share more, feel free to message me/connect on LI. Im a Career Coach, happy to help further.
I found a great mentor and was internally double promoted from M to Director in one company. Company hopped for a lateral title and more money that ended up being a much more junior role (way more levels in the org with 2 additional levels between D->VP). Only stayed there a year and company hopped to more money and a VP title. Internally promoted to SVP but kind of a diluted SVP title (only had LOB leadership, not whole company). Company hopped again to more money and lateral SVP title but with whole company leadership responsibilities.
Thank you for reviewing my career path. I am just tired of hamster wheeling my career. I always was ambitious and took challenges and overachieved them. Now, I feel while
I was working others were chumming up with people and getting promoted. I even heard a phrase told to me by my colleague that I am a victim of my own success, when after succeeding at one project I am assigned to help another one immediately.
Set more aggressive goals than your peers and achieve them.
Thank you so much. I wish you were my manager :). I am trying to change my group. Love the company but feel I am in a henhouse for the lack of better word. I like diversity (male and female) and fast paced environment.
If you don't think they see your potential, it may be time to look for your promotion at another company.
Yeah, I feel that is the way it have to go ….
