Potential employer is asking what compensation level I was looking for. They asked me to think about it because they are ready to make an offer. Currently I make $56,000 in LCOL. Potential firm is largest in the state. Current firm is large regional firm. Would be same role I am currently as Staff Accountant. Just not sure what amount to shoot for.

Tell them a number that would make you sign, it doesn’t hurt to be aggressive if they are ready to make you an offer.. typically the smaller firms pay a bit of a premium at least when it’s Big 4 to regional (seems like this might be similar?).. in this market the jump could easily be 20% or more.. Also just keep in mind that salary is just one aspect of total comp, better healthcare, 401k match, spot bonuses or annual bonus target, etc are just as important and can help explain larger/smaller jumps in base to make sure it is worth it for you… Last thing is if you come in slightly higher than what they can do, sometimes companies will try to make up for it with a signing bonus (though that only helps for one year)

Hi fishes, how much variable pay usually paid back. 100%?

I’ve been offered a new role for 48k with a signing bonus but I’ve checked on Glassdoor and can see the budget for the role is 50-73k. I’d it worth me trying to negotiate for higher? I don’t have any previous experience in the field but it is something I’m trying to pivot into so this would be a good starting point. The job title is for a Product Marketing Executive

Hello, I have a question that needs your inputs how to handle. I am working with a post-MBA Associate on a project and this person seems to do extra work beyond what the team is asking the rest of us to do. I think during our conversations with the leadership, there were a couple of points that were brought up by the MD but that was not a concrete directive that we need to do because if it is, I would know about it from the chain email since I am staffed to the project.

Hello all, i have. A question regarding compensation for a lateral move. I just received a job offer for an UA position from a competing cyber insurance carrier for $70,000 + bonuses. This job will be based out of San Francisco. I currently make $30/hour for the same role in Chicago, after OT it’s about $60,000. Do you think it would be wise to accept the offer? Thoughts in general?

I’ve been thinking of making a switch from audit to TAS. I’m currently a S1 (2 busy seasons experience), and rated as a top performer at my firm. I’m contacted by Kroll, but recruiters there told me that since I haven’t got any TAS experience, I should be applying for their Analyst role instead of Senior Associate. Honestly, I want to switch to TAS but not that desperate to leave my firm. Anyway, I just wonder if you guys have the same situation and usually how long it takes to get promoted?
