Preparation is key - for just about anything, especially if you are going into an interview with a new employer. Your resume provides the hiring manager a general concept of your experience and work history, but the real work happens during the interview.

So, how do you prepare for the interview? How do you anticipate the questions? Which "tools" do you use prior to, during, and after the interview?

I entirely agree that preparation matters a lot, and what happens in the interview is crucial. It's important, however, not to prepare too much. I once went into an interview and thought I was nailing it and only later did I realize I must have sounded like a robot. It's good to remember that a job interview isn't like a game show where rattling off precise answers would be key, sometimes it's better to relax a bit and think things through out loud. Showing how your mind works in the moment can say more than showing that you've got a lot of info packed between your ears.

That's a very good point - showing them how you process information and develop a solution. I never considered that concept - thank you!

Maybe I'm not doing enough, lol. I always do a little bit of preliminary research on the company and that's about it. I don't use any tools or anything like that, just some googling.

I am the same - I reviewed the company website to find more about the company, their culture, what they offered to the community. I try to get to know them before they get to know me.

I don't prepare much. I will look into the company on information on it and how they interview. Being someone that has spent much of their life public speaking, I give better answers on my feet than if I put together answers in advance. I already know the information about me so on the fly I handle interviews very well.

That's great - especially being able to pivot on the fly. It shows that you're flexible and can process on the go.

My company went toxic in the last couple months. Chose me and started interviewing. Had a very successful interview with Amazon but recruiter is working hard trying to place me and said there’s no knowing how long to find a team. Meanwhile I just received a Director offer for a company with a 29% pay bump July 1. If Amazon or any other FAANG/large co gets back to me, is there an acceptable way to not burn bridges with new job and accept or delay start date with FAANG? Or fuck it just hop?

I was approached on LinkedIn for an early career recruiting role in DFW, TX. I don't have direct experience, but I have the university experience/connections from working in career services. This is the first time I've considered work outside of higher education. I said my salary expectations are minimum $90k and that didn't seem to be an issue. Am I asking too little, too much? How can I know I'm getting the best salary and not just settling at the low end of the range?

I’ve taken FAR a few times at this point. I got two 74s and this past one I got a 70. I felt like the last exam (which was a few weeks ago) was extremely harder than the other ones. Has anyone else noticed the exam getting extremely tough? Or do you think I just got a one off?

Hi PPC Guru’s

I recently started a local store visit campaign but it’s not allowing me to optimize towards store visits. My Google rep doesn’t know what she’s doing I swear, she’s not had any answers and she’s the one the recommended we utilize this ad type. Any ideas why it’s not letting me optimize towards this? Get directions is what I currently have it set as and we are getting conversions but we really want the store visits. Thanks so much!!
