Well look at this way, at least you don’t have to work at EY
🐍
Waste of time
This happened to me recently at a different firm. Six informal interviews over three months it’s nothing but glowing feedback and suddenly “it’s not you it’s us....hold tight and we’ll call you someday.”
What sector? I’m in talks and don’t want to waste time if Uncle Ernie isn’t hiring.
EY3 is this across all advisory practices in FSO?
EY was unprofessional when I interviewed with them. Was interviewing for a manager position, and they offered to move forward with hiring process, but only as a lateral move with "short runway" to manager. I politely declined and explained that was my present situation with my current employer, and thanked them for the consideration. A week went by and I changed my mind; reached out to the recruiter to inquired if there was still an interest in proceeding on their end. No reply. Too hard to politely respond that they since moved on to other candidates? Just professional courtesy.
Yeah, it's cool. I still think the recruiter was less than professional, which left a bad impression, and I felt like complaining when the subject came up. But honestly, if there was a job I wanted and it were offered, I'm sure I wouldn't let this stand in the way. 🤷♂️
If it’s FSO there’s no demand.
Those times have passed....
Also don’t want to waste time if they aren’t hiring but had a few interviews. What areas are affected?
I interviewed a few weeks ago for TAS and was told demand had slowed down.
I had the same issue a few years back, but they reached out 2 months later after my final round and extended me an offer. I also used that as leverage to ask for an additional 10k salary, and it worked.
Hmm good one. They did say if demand surges in 2-3 months , they will reach out and will need just one interview to close out. But given the economy and likeliness of things slowing down, i doubt it.
