Question for HR leaders here: you are starting at a new company and want to make a good impression. What are some of the first things you do/put into place to set the right tone on how you will run HR, help with company culture etc ?

One of the first things I do is listen before making major changes. I’ll meet with leadership, managers, and employees to understand what’s working, what’s frustrating people, and where HR has credibility gaps or opportunities to improve. That helps build trust quickly and prevents “change for the sake of change.” All the best... You got this!

100% agree. At the same time start assessing the HR team's skill-set. Is your team equipped to meet the gaps identified?

A patient of mine essentially asked me to fraudulently bill his insurance the other day. My response was records can be audited at anytime which could result in my license being put at risk. He asked me how many times has that happened? I was like that doesn’t matter. I spent way too much time, money and effort to get to where I am.
