I have nearly 10 years’ experience across graduate, internship and apprenticeship programmes but was recently made redundant and am exploring new opportunities.

My CV seems to generate interest and I regularly reach interview stages. However, the feedback is often the same: “we really liked you, but another candidate was the better fit.”

For those involved in hiring today, what do you think truly differentiates candidates in interviews?

I went for 3 interviews with a company met with vp and was given package thinking I aced interview there was another candidate 😞 the other person for the job. The VP calls me to tell me I didn’t get position however he wants me to re apply in new year that something else will be open, and that he wanted to keep a copy of my resume what does this mean ? Should I apply again in new year or don’t bother ?

Account management role at Google or product management role at Facebook? (Entry level)

Received a verbal offer/commitment from the engineering team 3 weeks after my interview process. Still sitting and waiting (1.5 weeks) to have the conversation about compensation expectations and finalizing the offer. Is the Google hiring process typically this slow?
