Could someone recommend a good accountant
Hi Fellow fishes, I had an hr discussion with amdocs and during salary negotiation they told we can't give more than 11 lpa, they told it's the last offer and didn't negotiate at all. My current CTC is 7 lpa and YOE: 3 years. How can I renegotiate with them. Will they not process my offer letter if I ask them to reconsider? P.S. : I really want to join amdocs. Amdocs

It’s not totally clear what your question is… if it’s “do you get paid for holidays while on mat leave” the answer should be yes; if it’s “do you get an extra week of mat leave because the holidays don’t count against it” the answer is unfortunately no.
Sorry, it’s a two parter. 1) do you get paid the holidays as holidays? And 2) do you get holidays counted as part of your leave allowance or in addition to allowance.
That’s very weird…here holidays don’t count toward our leave (so for example you get the extra week at the end for Christmas) but I’m 90% sure we get paid for them, especially if they fall during FMLA. Maybe it’s when the holidays fall? Could it be a short term disability thing?
Now I’m quietly wondering if I’m in the same boat…!
It think it’s pretty normal. You get a maternity plan for how many weeks off you get, but if you agency traditionally closes the week of Christmas (mine did but it was announced each year closer to the season) you don’t then get a week tacked on to your leave. Similarly, you don’t get half days tacked on for summer Fridays while on leave.
Actual holidays are likely included in your plan and are not being counted as maternity leave days used.
Ah my old job used to take in summer Fridays and holidays. It was so awesome! I see now it’s unusual
My mat leave holidays were just another day. So they counted them against my total time off for fmla etc
This happened with me for my mat leave. The week of Xmas off would have been during my short term disability and I was not able to count them as “holidays” because of STD rules (I think they said I couldn’t go on/off/on STD which is how it’s be to take those “holidays”). I ended up delivering early and that week fell outside STD and I nicely demanded they give me those days off and not be part of my official mat leave which would start right after (I was also in the midst of asking them to overhaul their entire parental leave policy). They agreed to my request, and they did eventually change the policy but specifically noted that any holidays that fall within parental leave cannot be used to add on/extend the leave. But you’d certainly still get paid for that day…
This happened to me too!! Delivered right before mlk but they counted it anyways. So annoying
That depends on where you live. In the U.K. you’d accrue annual leave during your mat leave. But it sounds like you’re probably in the states?
