I am a graduating student who just got offered 65k for a solution analyst role at Deloitte USDC (Data Engineering Focus). From reading previous posts it seems to be a lot of negative thoughts surrounding the USDC, but straight out of college is this a good opportunity?
I'm looking to gain as much experience as possible out of college in an IT role and wondering what exit opportunities may be in place a year or two down the road if there is little/slow progression.
Any Advice?
As an ADC applying this summer for 2022 start, I haven’t gotten a chance to connect with any L.E.K. Consulting members and I really want to get to know the company better before moving on with my application. Any L.E.K. Consulting fish out there willing to spare a few minutes to chat about their work, the company, the culture etc? Thanks!

I am going to make a dangerous assumption that your primary programmatic software productivity tool as a tax advisory is Excel/ ppt.
In your free time look into tools that may be tangential to your day to day. Maybe you find yourself building sophisticated models that choke excel and could consider using R to runs these calculations off a standard form you use each day? Perhaps you want to teach yourself Visual Basic to run some of the excel routines through macros? Perhaps you want to build dashboards in some BI tool to help users interact with pivots of the data in a graphical fashion?
Each of these theoretical steps away from the day to day routine but through the magic of YouTube, udemy, etc you can pack on a ton of peripheral knowledge in a few weeks. Play with some of your work problems in these new tools you are exploring. If you enjoy it you’ll find yourself bringing ideas back to the team and maybe win a chance to put these skills to use professionally.
Your work will be awful (lol) but you will learn about the tool with hands on experience. This is a path to a new beginning.
